WHAT IT IS:
The Furutech NCF Clear Line is a passive AC line optimizer, small enough to hold in your hand. Plug it into a vacant AC receptacle on a power distributor or wall outlet, and it lowers noise on that AC line. Nothing passes through it, so there is nothing to rewire. It works in home theater systems too.
HOW IT WORKS:
According to Furutech:
- NCF (Nano Crystal² Formula): a crystalline material that generates negative ions to eliminate static and converts thermal energy into far infrared. Combined with nano-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder, it damps both electrical and mechanical resonance. NCF is found only in Furutech products.
- α (Alpha)-OCC air coils: enameled passive wire coils whose size and wind length Furutech tuned through extensive listening tests.
- NCF body and end cover: nylon and glass fiber with ceramic particles and carbon powder for added damping. Molded channels in the end cover add 76% more NCF surface area.
- Four-layer hybrid NCF carbon fiber housing: hardened clear coat, NCF and textured carbon fiber composite, NCF and 3K carbon fiber, and an NCF nylon resin inner layer.
- Pressure-sealed air chamber inside, for additional damping.
- Alpha Process: all metal parts are cryogenically treated (−196 to −250°C) and ring-demagnetized to relieve stress and improve conductivity.
Furutech says you'll hear it right away: a deeper, more focused soundstage, better harmonics and tonal balance, and cleaner, better-defined bass from a lower noise floor. In home theater, Furutech reports a sharper, more natural picture.
HOW TO USE IT:
- Plug it into a vacant receptacle on the same AC line as your system, ideally one right next to your system.
- Allow 24 hours of break-in.
- The housing is secured with factory-torqued T10 tamper-proof screws. Please don't take it apart.
