The Furutech FA Alpha S22 uses a shielded twisted pair geometry, with each conductor insulated with a special grade of polypropylene. Each conductor leg is approximately 14 AWG. The FA Alpha S22 then uses cotton dampening material, a paper sheath, an inner PVC sheath with carbon dampening particles, braided shield, and outer PVC sheath. Total diameter is about 9mm. Furutech’s (Alpha) OCC is one of a select few of conductors that Furutech engineers have found to excel in sound reproduction. (Alpha) OCC is made with high purity oxygen-free copper using a special casting process. Unlike regular OFC, almost all of the impurities of this high-purity OCC have been removed at the micron level through a special casting process unique to Furutech.
